A variety of industrial projects such as artificial intelligence applied to textiles, development of biosensors, fuzzy logic based process control systems, data compressions, etc. have been undertaken. COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS

The duration of the above programs in India would be two years. Students will receive graduate degree from your university after successful completion of the program in India. The Indian institution and your university will administer the programs jointly. The Indian institution will have world-class facilities such as modern class rooms, state-of-the-art audio visual center, laboratories, computerized library, video conferencing hall, and administrative blocks. For the collaborative graduate programs, students with Bachelor's degree (10+2+4) or (10+2+3) would be eligible for admission. TOEFL, GRE will be required for admission.

SALIENT FEATURES OF COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS

AICTE: Collaborative graduate degree programs require approval of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. No Objection Certificate (NOC) will be required from the American Embassy for offering collaborative programs in India.

Testing: The course exercises, along with home-works, assignments and examinations will be provided, administered, and graded by your university in association with the Indian institution to ensure that the requirements for obtaining degree are fully met. The faculties of your university and the Indian institution will jointly evaluate the answer papers.

Faculty Support: The target for the relative amount of teaching in India by the faculties of the Indian institution and your university would be around 80:20, respectively. Indian faculty members will be carefully selected and appointed to conduct the programs after getting approval of your university. State-of-the-art computer centers in the Indian institution and fast Internet connections will be provided to enable students to access educational resources of your university such as faculty, libraries, and computer centers.

Collaboration Responsibility: The administration of the programs would be split between the Indian institution and your university. The responsibility of your university includes developing innovative curricula, sharing faculty, and joint projects. Your university would be in-charge of the programs, course definitions, and admission of students whereas the Indian institution would handle local advertising, appointment of Indian faculty members, screening of students, provision of infrastructure, and conducting of the programs.

CURRICULA OF GRADUATE PROGRAMS
The curricula of graduate programs will be in tune with the guidelines established by the relevant accrediting agency of your university. Within these parameters, the Indian institution will determine appropriate electives and core courses. The course exercises, along with home-works, assignments and examinations will be provided by your university to ensure that the courses of study in India for obtaining graduate degree meet your academic standards.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY
The course materials and teaching methods will be the same as the ones offered in your university. The Indian institution will follow the same study guidelines as your university. For each graduate program, at least one faculty member may be deputed by your university for short duration of two to three weeks every semester for presenting part of the program. Carefully selected Indian faculty will present remainder of the program. Round-trip travel to India of visiting faculty members will be borne by the Indian institution. Boarding and lodging of international standards will be provided to visiting faculty members in India. In addition, the Indian institutions will pay honoraria to the visiting faculty members.

COST OF TUITION
Currently, the cost of tuition for graduate programs offered by leading Indian institutions is around US $ 3,000 per year. The class size for the program may range from 40 to 60 students. The Indian institution will pay 20 percent of tuition revenue for each program to your university as royalty.

FACULTY EXPENSES FOR EACH PROGRAM
Estimated faculty expenses incurred by the Indian institution for each program for your faculty members will be:

Round trip Travel to India: $ 1,500 (economy class)
Lodging and Boarding: $ 3,000;
Honorarium: $ 3,000.
Total expenses for each faculty member: $ 7,500
Annual faculty expenses for each program (2 faculty members): $ 15,000
Applicable taxes will be borne by the Indian institution.

REVENUE FOR EACH PROGRAM
Given below is the annual revenue projection for each program for your university. The figures are approximate and may be revised if any of the underlying conditions change.

* Size of each class: 40 students
* Annual tuition for each student: $ 3,000
* Annual revenue from each class: $ 120,000
* Revenue share of your university for each program: $ 24,000 per year.
Applicable taxes will be borne by the Indian institution.
