Brief Descriptions of Each Field of Study
Water transportation. Prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to perform such water-related tasks as diving, fishing, operating ships, and repairing ships.

Western European studies. The history, society, politics culture, and economics of the Western European peoples including the Alpine region, the British Isles, France, the Iberian Peninsula, Italy, the Low Countries, and Germany.

Wildlife and wildl

ands management. Covers the principles and practices of the conservation and management of wild lands and wildlife resources for aesthetic, ecological, and recreational uses.

Women's studies. A program covering historical, social political, cultural, and economic perspectives on women as individuals and social actors. Programs add to existing knowledge about women and also generate new perspectives on what is already known about human history and culture.

Woodworking. Prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to lay out and shape stock; assemble wood en articles; mark, saw, carve, and sand wooden products; repai wooden articles; and use a variety of hand and power tools.
