Overview
Founded in 1945, Roosevelt University was named after Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt in recognition of their democratic ideals and achievements. From the start, Roosevelt University attracted free thinkers who were passionate about social justice and the pursuit of knowledge. The University’s early advisory board was composed of a virtual Who’s Who of brilliant humanitarians — from Albert Einstein
and Albert Schweitzer to Pearl S. Buck and Thomas Mann.

Academics & Majors
Roosevelt is a comprehensive university offering more than 110 degree programs in the arts, sciences, business, and education. The Office of the Provost is responsible for academic programming across the university. College Deans administer schools, departments, and programs within individual colleges. There are over 220 full-time faculty members teaching at Roosevelt University, 85% of whom hold PhDs or equivalent degrees. The student-faculty ratio is 13:1.

Areas of Interests for International Collaborations
- Facilitating application and admission process of qualified high school and college graduates to study at Roosevelt.
- Establishing 2+2 or 3+1 articulation agreements for computer science, economics, and math majors.
- Working with universities, government agencies, businesses, and others in India to provide custom-tailored certificate, non-degree, programs and training at either the undergraduate or graduate levels in our university business school.
- Establishing partnerships with Indian colleges/universities to host a group of RU students and faculty for a short-term (2-4 weeks) study in India annually.
