Sacred Heart University, founded in 1963, is an independent, co-educational university in the Catholic intellectual tradition that offers more than 40 academic programs to over 6,000 undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students in the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education & Health Professions, and AACSB-accredited John F. Welch College of Business. SHU’s main campus is located in Fairfield, CT, with international campuses in the Irish-speaking community of Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland and the only American-accredited MBA program in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. - Sacred Heart University is located on 65 acres in beautiful, suburban, Fairfield, CT.
- Fairfield, CT was recently ranked by Money Magazine as the top place to live in the Northeast and #9 in the U.S. Fairfield County, which includes the town of Fairfield, is the third largest home of Fortune 500 companies.
- SHU’s campus is situated 55 miles (90 km) from New York City and 150 miles (240 km) from Boston, MA.
- The world headquarters of General Electric (GE) is less than 1 mile (< 2 km) from campus.
- Trains to and from New York City, Boston, and Washington, DC as well as a ferry to and from Long Island, NY are available at the Bridgeport Station just 5 miles (8 km) in neighboring Bridgeport, CT.
- The campus shuttle as well as the public bus system and local taxicab companies transport students to restaurants, shops, and other establishments throughout Fairfield and nearby towns and cities.
- Major airports in the area include Kennedy International (New York City), LaGuardia (New York City), Bradley (Hartford, CT), and Logan (Boston, MA).
- SHU’s campus is safe and secure, with 24/7 monitoring and dispatch by campus Public Safety Officers. The campus emergency plan, personal safety escort program, security alarm systems, blue light call boxes, security surveys, crime prevention announcements, and parking lot security provide additional safety measures.
SHU students also study abroad year-round and worldwide. The most popular study abroad sites include our own Sacred Heart University residential campus in the Irish-speaking community of Dingle, Country Kerry, Ireland as well as University-sponsored programs in Italy, Spain, Bermuda, Australia, and the newly developed Bahamas program. SHU students also study abroad in more than 30 countries across the globe through the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS) approved programs. In addition, our undergraduate and MBA students have the unique opportunity to study at our own Sacred Heart University campus in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, providing students with real-world education and experience in international business.

- F-I Student Visa counseling and preparation (includes application advisement and interview coaching)
- Issuance of the I-20 Form within one week of a student’s acceptance into the University
