The International Resident Affiliate Program in Technology Transfer

The International Resident Affiliate Program in the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) provides sponsoring organizations with an opportunity to recruit their best people to work side by side with a uniquely qualified group by combining their technical knowledge and business experience to advance superior technology transfer practices.

Participation in the Program is intended to immerse resident affiliates in education and training of methods and tools that promise to produce skills, capabilities, and networks in state-of-the-art technology transfer practices. In short, the time invested in the program will return dividends for many years to come.

Sponsoring organizations participate by assigning key, qualified members of their administrative or technical staffs to work with CWRU TTO staff members within specific technology domains. The ideal candidate should have current or future technology transfer responsibility at his/her institution.

Resident Affiliates have the opportunity to participate in meetings, public courses and workshops at no cost or minimal cost to their sponsoring organizations. Courses are recommended to help affiliates acquire new skills for planning and transitioning new methods and technologies into their home organizations.

There is no fee required to participate in the program. The position offers no compensation or employee benefits; the individual and/or the sponsoring organization will be responsible for the candidate's travel and expenses. Candidates must follow their country's VISA requirements for international travel/volunteer status. The International Resident Affiliate Program will provide office space, equipment, and access to general office resources.

CWRU TTO will work with the sponsoring organization to determine a project schedule, the location where the work will take place, and a timetable for the affiliate's tenure at CWRU.
