MISSION
1. OVERSEAS EDUCATION
With the recent liberalization of the economy
in the Indian sub-continent and growing affluence
of the large middle class, study in foreign countries
is no longer just a dream for many students from
the sub-continent. It is indeed a very viable
option. Students from the sub-continent are interested
in foreign universities to pursue their higher
education goals and tap the international career
opportunities. The Indus Foundation guarantees
admission in foreign universities for all students
from the Indian sub-continent, provided they meet
the minimum admission criteria of the foreign
universities.
The Indus Foundation is an organization of professionals
working as authorized representatives and promoters
of foreign universities in the Indian sub-continent.
We offer a comprehensive package of services to
take care of all processing and application needs
of Indian students for study in foreign countries.
Our services are directed towards assessing and
matching students with the philosophy, requirements,
academic offerings and resources of foreign universities.
The Foundation assists the students through the
entire application process from the identification
of the programs of study to the actual enrollment.
These services are guaranteed to result in admission
of students from the Indian sub-continent in good
accredited foreign universities. Students are
given a wide range of options to study in the
U.S.A., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand,
Germany, France, Ireland, Malaysia, or any other
country.
Good quality education is always in great demand.
In today's competitive world, entrance tests such
as GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL, and IELTS play a very
important role. Admission into a large number
of good foreign universities is based on tests
in which thousands of students compete with each
other. Students have to appear for one or more
of these tests and do well for assured admission
(with financial assistance) into a good university.
Students look for good training institutes through
which they can prepare for various entrance tests.
The Indus Foundation, with its vast experience
and latest training materials, is best suited
for students to do well in the entrance tests
and fulfill their aspirations of studying abroad.
The Foundation strongly believes in providing
honest, up-to-date and accurate information with
friendly and courteous service. It is an organization
where students can go for counseling and information.
Information dissemination and personal counseling
are made available to students from all over the
Indian sub-continent. Our experts are thoroughly
familiar with the educational systems of the Indian
sub-continent and those of foreign countries.
They are ideally equipped to assist students to
go through the maze of admission processes of
foreign universities.
2. IT EDUCATION
Information Technology is fast becoming the nerve
center of any organization. As part of the globalization
process, companies and organizations the world
over are integrating themselves with the world
economy. They are increasingly using the latest
technologies to improve quality, enhance employee
productivity, and increase customer satisfaction.
Organizations continue to upgrade, standardize
and integrate their systems to develop and sustain
their competitive edge. This globalization process
has generated a huge demand for qualified and
well trained professionals. The Indus Foundation
is in the business of equipping professionals
with the tools they need to become dynamic contributors
to the organizations they serve.
India is currently in the midst of an IT revolution.
From a global perspective, India has enormous
strengths in terms of its skilled workforce, robust
education system and responsive markets. Virtually
every segment of industry - from banking to defense
- is going in for large-scale computerization
in order to cope with new market realities and
gain global competitiveness. Rapid automation
however, is creating a tremendous need for appropriately
skilled professionals who can spearhead IT implementation
within their organizations.
The Foundation delivers quality software training
for individuals and companies. The Foundation
is committed to innovating, refining and fine
tuning its offerings to suit the needs of students,
professionals and employers. Our suite of education
programs encompass every kind of learner, from
a young person taking his first step into the
world of computers, to a student seeking a career
in IT, to a professional gaining cutting-edge
technology skills.
The Indus Foundation has a young and nimble team
with passion for delivering superior software
solutions, products, training, consultancy and
customer service. Being customer driven, the Foundation
constantly strives to provide the highest quality
services to its customers. We strive to design
training programs to meet the needs of individuals
and organizations by incorporating the latest
technologies in our training modules and ensuring
that the best of trainers are available to deliver
the same.
The Foundation believes that for the computer
revolution in India to become all pervasive, it
is important that young people in schools and
colleges be empowered by inculcating computer
skills. The Foundation welcomes partnerships with
schools across the country for this purpose.
3. DISTANCE EDUCATION
Distance education is an emerging global phenomenon
that promises to alter fundamentally the nature
of traditional education and training. The increasingly
pervasive nature of the Net and the Web, and the
collaborative infrastructure provided by net-centric
computing have led to the growth of distance education.
The phenomenal growth of distance education is
explained by the fact that over 90% of college
students access the Internet, with 50% accessing
the Web daily. Also, companies and organizations
are spending huge amounts on in-house training
and education programs through distance mode.
The popularity of distance education programs
has further increased with the availability of
on-line discussion forums due to enhanced bandwidth.
Now even the most geographically remote students
can get the education they want.
Distance education is education designed for
learners who live at a distance from the teaching
institution or education provider. It is study
with an educational institution that provides
organized, formal learning opportunities for students.
Presented in a sequential and logical order, the
instruction is offered by distance study, through
virtually any media. Historically, its predominant
medium of instruction has been printed materials,
although non-print media is now more popular.
It also incorporates or make use of videotapes,
CD or DVD ROMs, audio recordings, facsimiles,
telephone communications, and the Internet through
e-mail and Web-based delivery systems.
The Indus Foundation in academic collaboration
with American, Canadian, and other foreign universities,
offers an array of degree, diploma, and certificate
programs at Bachelor’s, Master’s,
and Doctoral levels in a wide range of fields.
Distance education is offered as a dynamic, interactive
distance learning method using toll-free telephone
lines, as well as a diverse array of personal
computers, video devices, CD and DVD ROMs, online
courses over the Internet, interactive devices,
and other modern technological innovations. When
each lesson or segment is completed, the student
makes available the assigned work for correction,
grading, comment, and subject matter guidance
by qualified instructors. Corrected assignments
are returned to the student. This exchange fosters
a personalized student-instructor relationship,
which is the hallmark of distance education instruction.
At the Foundation, students are required to take
examinations in a proctored setting. Assignments
are larger, longer, and more thorough so as to
test for knowledge by forcing the students to
research the subject and prove that they have
done the work. Quizzes are a popular form of testing
knowledge and many courses go by the honor system
regarding cheating. Midterms and Final examinations
are held at a common location so that professors
can supervise directly.
4. EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATION
Educational collaborations promote universal and
equitable access to education, and develop in
students the knowledge, confidence, and requisite
skills to become lifelong learners and economic
competitors in a dynamic global marketplace. Today,
success is determined by access to knowledge.
It is no longer an option – it is a mandate
for survival. An important mission of the Foundation
is to galvanize high-impact educational collaborations
between educational entities in India on the one
hand and those in the USA and Canada on the other.
The Foundation acts as an internationally recognized
support system for 21st Century education for
bridging the education divide.
Indian educational system has been in transition
in the recent past. India has the world’s
second largest post-secondary student population
of over 11 million. It is expected that this number
will double over the next 12 to 15 years. Further,
Indian economy is transforming into an international
powerhouse requiring India to have the best possible
educational opportunities for its citizens. Faced
with a growing demand for post secondary education
and limited resources, India is looking to the
private sector and foreign universities to bridge
this expected shortage. India is a member of the
WTO and has now become a signatory to the General
Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), thereby
enabling high quality educational services to
be offered in India from around the world.
The Indus Foundation recognizes that collaborative
graduate and post-graduate programs, twinning
programs, certificate programs, study in India
programs, and partnership programs between Indian
institutions and American / Canadian universities
are extremely useful in meeting the rapidly growing
Indian educational needs. These programs contribute
to the goal of preparing students to compete in
the global economy.
The Foundation is committed to assisting well
established and reliable Indian institutions for
collaborating with accredited American / Canadian
universities for offering their degree, diploma,
and certificate programs in India. It assists
Indian institutions for developing twinning programs,
setting up study in India programs, and establishing
academic partnerships with accredited American
/ Canadian universities. Its staff has expertise
in the Indian, American, and Canadian educational
systems. Over the years, the staff has developed
extensive contacts with a wide array of accredited
American and Canadian universities.
